Vasquez (ankle) has been released by the Nets, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez has been held out of the last four games with an ankle injury, and it's now come to the light that the 29-year-old will require surgery. It's the same ankle that also required a procedure last December, ultimately limiting him to just 23 games as a member of the Bucks. With his long-term future clouded, the Nets will part ways with Vasquez and will replace him with rookie Yogi Ferrell. "Greivis did everything we asked of him and more to try to get back on the court at full strength," said Nets General Manager Sean Marks. "The passion, grit and perseverance he has shown since he joined the team have been remarkable. We are thankful to Greivis for all of his efforts and wish him well in the future."

Vasquez (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez continues to recover from his ankle injury, and with the Nets playing right away again Wednesday, he is in danger of missing more action. With Vasquez, Jeremy Lin (hamstring) and Caris LeVert (foot) all out Tuesday, Isaiah Whitehead and Sean Kilpatrick -- and possibly Randy Foye -- are in line to handle the point guard duties for the Nets.

Vasquez (ankle) will not play in Friday's game against the Hornets, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez's absence puts the Nets down two point guards with Jeremy Lin (hamstring) expected to be sidelined for two weeks. There is still no exact timetable for Vasquez to return as he is bothered by the same ankle that he had surgery on nearly a near ago, but Isaiah Whitehead, Sean Kilpatrick and Randy Foye would all be in line to see extended run as primary ball handlers in the backcourt for as long as both Lin and Vasquez are out.

Vasquez (ankle) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez exited Saturday's game against the Bucks with a sore right ankle and the pain has continued to linger, so he'll receive additional rest Wednesday and remain on the sidelines. Vasquez is slated to be the Nets backup point guard behind Jeremy Lin once healthy, but in his absence, there should be additional opportunities for Sean Kilpatrick and Isaiah Whitehead in the backcourt.

Vasquez (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls, Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez left Saturday's game against the Bucks with a sore right ankle and did not return, and it looks as if that ankle injury may be a nagging one. Vasquez should still be considered day-to-day at this point, with his next opportunity to play being Wednesday against the Pistons. With the Nets now thin in the backcourt, look for Sean Kilpatrick to help take on some of the ball handling duties with rookie Isaiah Whitehead also seeing some extended time on the floor behind starting point guard Jeremy Lin.

Vasquez left Saturday's game against the Bucks with a sore right ankle and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez departed after scoring two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with a rebound in seven minutes. He's listed as day-to-day heading into Monday's game against Chicago.

Vasquez tallied no points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), but recorded six assists and two rebounds across 17 minutes in Tuesday's 121-100 preseason loss to the Heat.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez is still trying to get his legs under him after he was held out for most of last season while recovering from bone spur surgery on his right ankle, and has seen his minutes expand in each successive preseason game. However, the 29-year-old's shooting has been disastrous, as he now sits on a collective 1-for-11 mark from the field and 0-for-7 mark from three-point range through three contests. With his main competition for the top backup job at point guard, rookie Isaiah Whitehead, going 1-for-8 from the field Tuesday, Vasquez still appears in good position to open the regular season in a rotation spot, but his awful preseason may result in coach Kenny Atkinson leaning more heavily on starter Jeremy Lin than expected.

Vasquez (ankle) will be available to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Pistons, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear if Vasquez will actually see a significant amount of time on the court, so he's still a player to avoid in DFS situations. However, he was able to log a full practice this past Friday and hasn't suffered any setbacks early this week, so Vasquez should have the option to make a return to the court. Once the regular season is here, Vasquez is expected to open the season as the team's No. 2 point guard behind Jeremy Lin.

Vasquez (ankle) was able to get in a full practice Friday, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being limited for the first few days of camp while he continued to recover from his December bone spur surgery, Vasquez said he felt "great" after his first full session of practice. The Nets could give the veteran a few days off throughout camp, but Vasquez looks poised to enter the regular season as the top backup behind starting point guard Jeremy Lin, though he'll have to fight with Isaiah Whitehead and Randy Foye for those duties.

Vasquez remains in the rehab process with his right ankle, for which he required bone spur surgery back in mid-December, Nets Daily reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vasquez made a few appearances for the Bucks after returning from surgery, but he's apparently still not quite 100 percent healthy, as the ankle prevented him from suiting up for Venezuela in the 2016 Summer Olympics. The 29-year-old was able to land a one-year deal from the Nets in free agency, but the rebuilding team signed him with the understanding that he may need some more recovery time. Expect Vasquez to see his activities limited during camp, which could prevent him from claiming the top backup job at point guard when the regular season opens.
