Andrew Bynum has a boxing trainer and is working out hard in order to stay in shape over the summer. Bigger players face a serious risk of putting on too much weight during a lockout, so it's nice to know Bynum isn't slacking. But you can almost count on several players coming back in worse shape than they were in last year.

The Lakers have announced the hiring of assistant coaches Chuck Person and Quin Synder. Person is a 13-year NBA veteran who is expected to spearhead coach Mike Brown's defensive preparations. Brown explained Snyder as having "an extremely intelligent basketball mind...Quin's most valuable asset, however, is his passion for coaching and his ability to get the most out of the players he coaches."

The Timberwolves reportedly offered the Lakers the No. 2 pick as well as Michael Beasley in exchange for center Andrew Bynum. The Lakers don't appear to be open to moving Bynum and may not have even considered the offer, but it is clear that David Kahn and the Wolves are doing what they can in order to move the No. 2 pick.
