Puig (calf) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Dodgers never expected the calf tightness to keep Puig out too long, and after three days of rest, the 26-year-old appears to be back to full health. Barring any setbacks, his readiness for Opening Day shouldn't be in question.

Puig (calf) will likely be held out of the lineup until Thursday, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Dodgers are off Wednesday, so giving Puig three straight days off may be enough to help him get rid of the ailment he suffered over the weekend. In addition to Puig's injury, Andre Ethier is missing time this week as well, chipping away at the Dodgers' outfield depth with Opening Day less than two weeks out.

Puig was scratched from the lineup for Monday's Cactus League game against the Indians with left calf tightness, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The injury doesn't sound like a major concern for Puig, but the Dodgers won't take any chances with having him play through the issue with Opening Day two weeks away. O'Koyea Dickson will replace Puig in left field.

Puig blasted a pair of two-run homers in Friday's spring training win over the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Puig batted second against left-handed Cole Hamels on Friday, taking the All-Star deep in his first at-bat. He added another home run in the second inning off of Nick Martinez, putting a cap on a day where he showcased that he can handle both righties and lefties. Earlier in spring training, manager Dave Roberts said that the right field job was Puig's to lose. While that still may be the case, the polarizing outfielder will have to continually prove his worth this spring, considering the Dodgers have a couple of other outfield options who they would feel comfortable starting.

Puig went 1-for-3 with his first home run of spring training in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

EDGE Analysis

Puig is currently trying to prove that he is better than the competition that is vying for his starting job in right field. It is a small sample size, but he has four hits and a homer in 14 Cactus League at-bats. While his batting average sits at a respectable .286, his on-base percentage sits at that same mark. That shouldn't come as a surprise considering he has shown to be ultra-aggressive at the plate during spring training, batting .311 with a .323 on-base percentage in 225 career at-bats. Manager Dave Roberts hasn't tipped his hand in what his Opening Day lineup card will look like, so we just have to assume that Puig is still considered the front-runner for everyday at-bats in right.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said right field is Puig's job to lose, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Sure, it's his to lose, but the spring competition is expected to be tight, with Andre Ethier, Franklin Gutierrez and, if healthy, Trayce Thompson (back), likely chiming in, as well. The enigmatic Puig has the talent to run with the gig, but his erratic performance hasn't done him any favors. Still, fantasy players can take a chance on him, thanks to his likely clearance-rack price.

Puig could end up platooning in right field with Andre Ethier.

EDGE Analysis

Having a former All-Star serve on the short side of the platoon seems odd at first glance, but it would actually make a lot of sense for the Dodgers. The club is loaded in the outfield heading into spring training, with plenty of major league level platoon candidates. How Puig performs this spring will go a big way in determining whether he is an everyday player or not.

Puig is in the lineup for the Dodgers' NLDS matchup with the Nationals on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Puig did not start either of the first two games of the series, but he will replace Josh Reddick in the lineup Monday and hit cleanup against Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez.

Puig will start in right field and bat in the cleanup spot Sunday against the Giants, Doug Padilla of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Puig will end the season with four consecutive starts, all of which have come against left-handed starting pitchers. Through 61 plate appearances since returning to the Dodgers as a September call-up, Puig is slashing an excellent .302/.361/.604 with four homers and 11 RBI, but it's still expected that he'll stick in a platoon with Josh Reddick in right field during the postseason.

Puig hit a three-run homer and made a leaping catch in right field in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

Sporadic playing time this month is a likely contributor to Puig batting just .206 in September, but he's also smacked four home runs in his 34 at-bats, so he's certainly worth a look when the team is facing a lefty.
