Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs (ankle) is expected to throw off a mound this weekend, according to manager Brad Ausmus. The left-hander was long tossing this week, so he's making progress towards a return from the injured list and could be back in the rotation next week if all goes well. The 27-year-old allowed 17 hits and seven earned runs while walking two and fanning 14 in 15 innings (4.20 ERA) in his first three starts of the season. He should remain useful to fantasy owne[...]
Deeper AL-Only Waiver Wire Sleepers for Week 3 rotoballer.com Thu 4/18/19 7:00 AM
Every week in baseball, a significant player will hit the disabled list, slip into a slump, or get traded out of a good spot. How fantasy owners adapt to these situations can make or break the season as a whole. One lousy add might not hurt the long-term standing of a team, but failing to take advantage of breakouts or impact bats before others sure can.The primary challenge of playing in an NL or AL-only league is often the lack of options regarding adding and subtracting players when needed. I[...]

Just days after landing on the injured list with a left ankle sprain, Los Angeles Angels starter Tyler Skaggs played long toss Wednesday. It was the first step in the 27-year-old's rehab process, with positive results resulting in a potential bullpen session. Skaggs may not need any rehab starts and if all goes well, he could return as soon as his injured list stint concludes on April 27. In three starts this season, the left-hander has gone 1-2 with a 4.20 ERA.

Being only a week and a half into the season, drastic measures are to be avoided. None of us are happy with Yu Darvish right now, for example, but kicking him to the curb after two starts amounts to fantasy malpractice in most situations. That doesn't mean you can't tinker on the edges, which is precisely what this column is designed to help you do. Tyler Skaggs Holds Down Rangers In Win rotoballer.com Sat 4/6/19 7:42 PM
Los Angeles Angels starter Tyler Skaggs pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-run baseball to pick up his first win of the season against the Rangers on Saturday. Skaggs (1-1) allowed only five hits while striking out five to lower his ERA to 2.45 through two starts this season. It is a promising start for a talented pitcher who flashed plenty of potential in an up-and-down season in 2018. Skaggs will look to keep it rolling in his next start and has fantasy appeal in deeper leagues and AL-only formats [...]
