Dillard announced his retirement via his personal Twitter feed Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Dillard was released by the Rangers at the end of February after signing a minor-league contract during the offseason, and he'll elect to hang up his cleats instead of searching for another deal. The 37-year-old mainly pitched in the minors during his career but spent four seasons in the majors with the Brewers between 2008 and 2012. During that time, the right-hander posted a 4.70 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 62:29 K:BB over 73 relief appearances.

The Rangers released Dillard on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
After inking a minor-league deal with Texas over the winter, Dillard was expected to serve as a swingman at Triple-A Round Rock this season. The organization apparently had a change of heart, however, and Dillard will now hit the open market. Set to turn 38 years old in July, Dillard could opt for retirement if he doesn't find an offer to his liking.

Dillard signed another minor-league contract with the Rangers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Dillard will be heading into his third year as a member of the Rangers' organization, though he's yet to represent them at the big-league level. The 37-year-old hasn't thrown a big-league pitch for any club since appearing for the Brewers back in 2012.

Dillard signed a minor league deal with the Brewers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Probably better known for his comedic chops on viral videos than his ability to get hitters out, Dillard notched a 5.13 ERA and 53:17 K:BB in 47.1 innings at Triple-A Colorado Springs. He should offer organizational bullpen depth, likely returning to the Pacific Coast League at the outset of 2017.

Dillard agreed to a minor league contract with the Brewers on Monday. Dillard has appeared in 73 big league games -- all with the Brewers -- but he is primarily an organizational soldier at this point, as he pitched primarily in Double-A last season.

Brewers signed RHP Tim Dillard to a minor league contract. Dillard had been with the independent league Lancaster Barnstormers. He's no stranger to the Brewers, of course, as that's the only organization he's been with in pro ball. The 30-year-old will provide some minor league depth.

Brewers signed RHP Tim Dillard to a minor league contract. Dillard elected free agency over the winter after being removed from the Brewers' 40-man roster, but he's eventually found his way back into the organization. He'll represent depth at Triple-A Nashville.

Tim Dillard has elected free agency. Dillard holds an unimpressive 4.70 ERA in 73 career games over four seasons with the Brewers. The 29-year-old will now try to latch on elsewhere.

Brewers sent RHP Tim Dillard outright to Triple-A Nashville. The move clears him from the 40-man roster. It's not clear if he'll accept the minor league assignment. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 4.38 ERA and 29/14 K/BB ratio over 37 innings at the big league level this season.

The Brewers expect Tim Dillard to make their Opening Day roster. "He's got a good chance to make our bullpen," manager Ron Roenicke said. "What I see of him, I really like what he's doing. He can get a strikeout on a really good hitter and that shows me something. He's really nasty if he can do that.'' Dillard has a 3.38 ERA in two appearances this spring, and has enough of a track record with the Brewers to be used in a middle relief role. The 28-year-old posted a 24/4 K/BB ratio in 24 appearances last season.
