Ray (6-2) got the win Wednesday, firing six shutout innings with eight strikeouts against one hit and four walks versus the Cubs.

EDGE Analysis

Ray struggled some with command with the four walks, but he was otherwise sharp in shutting down a potent Cubs lineup. The lefty seems to be finally rounding into form, allowing two or fewer hits in four straight outings, and carrying a 1.59 ERA and 12.2 K/9 over 34 innings in his last six starts. His ERA now sits at a season-low 3.92 heading into Tuesday's tilt with the Dodgers.

Ray allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six across six innings Sunday against the Braves. He did not factor into the decision.

EDGE Analysis

Ray surrendered both of his earned runs on a home run by Ronald Acuna, but it was another positive start for him, recording 13 of his 18 outs via other groundball or strikeout. Sunday's start marked the second consecutive time Ray has pitched at least six innings after he had failed to do so in his six previous starts. While he posted a 5.03 ERA in the first-half of the season, Ray now has a 3.44 ERA across 55 innings in post All-Star break action.

Ray (5-2) tossed 6.1 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts against two hits and two walks en route to picking up the win Tuesday against the Padres.

EDGE Analysis

Ray was dominant, striking out the first four batters he faced while allowing just one runner to get beyond first base all night. The double-digit punchouts are his most since fanning 11 on April 24, and it's the first time since July that the southpaw has been able to make it through six full innings. He'll take a 4.25 ERA and 12.0 K/9 into Sunday's tilt against the Braves.

Ray threw seven strong innings Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing just a single run on four hits and a walk while striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.

EDGE Analysis

Ray looked good throughout the game, facing the minimum in five of his seven frames. It was easily one of his best performances of the season for the lefty and the first time he'd thrown more than six innings this year. He still has a disappointingly high 4.90 ERA overall, though his strikeout rate has remained strong, giving fantasy owners some value while they wait for his ERA to come down. Ray will hope to continue his momentum Monday against the Rangers.

Ray didn't factor into the decision against the Rockies on Friday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings, striking out two and walking one in Arizona's eventual 11-10 defeat.

EDGE Analysis

Ray was touched up by two homers from Nolan Arenado and wound up conceding five earned before exiting the contest after five innings and 93 pitches. It's been an erratic season on the whole for the 26-year-old right-hander coming off his fantastic 2017 campaign, as Ray now has a 5.37 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP in his 11 starts.

Ray (3-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing two earned runs over 5.1 innings. He struck out eight while giving up three walks and five hits.

EDGE Analysis

The Diamondbacks didn't give Ray any run support aside from the one run in the first inning, but it still wasn't the lefty's sharpest outing. His command was off as he threw just 62 of his 102 pitches for strikes. Ray's three walks marked his seventh start with at least three free passes allowed. The silver lining to Ray's start Thursday was that he kept the ball in the yard in Colorado after giving up five long balls in his last two outings. He'll make his next start after the All-Star break.

Ray's next start has been pushed up to Thursday in Coors Field, Jody Jackson of FOX Sports Arizona reports.

EDGE Analysis

This is a brutal blow for Ray's owners, as he was originally scheduled to start Friday in Atlanta, and will now have to navigate the most hitter-friendly park in baseball. Zack Godley was pushed back to Friday due to the fact he came out of the bullpen Sunday.

Ray (3-1) was the pitcher of record in the Diamondbacks' 6-3 loss to the Cardinals on Monday. He covered five innings and struck out seven while giving up six runs on nine hits and a walk.

EDGE Analysis

The Cardinals blitzed Ray right away, as the southpaw allowed the six of the first seven hitters to reach base in a three-run first inning. Ray then retired 13 of the next 15 batters before yielding back-to-back solo shots in the top of the sixth, with manager Torey Lovullo giving him the hook after Jedd Gyorko's blast. On an encouraging note, Ray has displayed solid control with a 13:3 K:BB over 11 innings in his first two starts since returning from the disabled list, but his fastball velocity has averaged 93.3 miles per hour between those outings, per Brooks Baseball. That's a full tick down from what he averaged during his breakthrough 2017 campaign.

Ray (3-0) got the win Wednesday, tossing six shutout innings with six strikeouts, two walks and two hits allowed against the Marlins.

EDGE Analysis

Making his first start in nearly two months after dealing with an oblique issue, Ray was terrific in this one. The lefty attacked hitters with first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 21 batters he faced, and he's now struck out 51 over just 33.2 innings this season (13.6 K/9). With Clay Buchholz (oblique) landing on the DL, Ray was forced to come back a bit earlier than initially planned and was lifted after 83 pitches Wednesday, but he figures to be able to go deeper going forward as he continues to stretch out. He'll take a 4.01 ERA into Monday's start against the Cardinals.

Ray (oblique) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Wednesday and will start against the Marlins.

EDGE Analysis

Ray is possibly being rushed back, as he was originally scheduled to make one more rehab start but will start in Miami instead. He threw just 66 pitches in his most recent rehab start so may be on a limited pitch count, but the Diamondbacks needed to call on him anyway as Clay Buchholz hit the disabled list with an oblique injury. Alex Avila was placed on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring in a corresponding move.
