The Twins released Berry on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

The 32-year-old outfielder signed a minor-league contract with the Twins in February and opened the season with Triple-A Rochester, with whom he slashed .194/.275/.278 in 40 plate appearances. The speedy veteran last played in the majors in 2015 with the Cubs, but at this stage of his career, Berry looks to be little more than organizational depth. He'll presumably attempt to land a minor-league deal elsewhere.

Berry signed a minor league contract with the Twins on Friday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.

EDGE Analysis

It will be the fifth team in the last two years for Berry, who spent all of last season in Triple-A. The 32-year-old is a career .265 hitter, but possesses decent speed, swiping 35 bags in the minors last season. He's a long shot for a reserve role at this point.

Berry has been released by the Blue Jays, reports Tim Dierkes.

EDGE Analysis

The base-stealing specialist just signed a minor league pact with the Jays on August 31, potentially putting him in line for a reprise of his past role (with the Tigers and Red Sox) as postseason pinch-running depth. Berry appeared in just 31 MLB games in 2013-15 and he hasn't played in the bigs in 2016, spending much of the year with the Angels' Triple-A affiliate.

Berry singed a minor league deal with the Blue Jays on Thursday and will report to Triple-A Buffalo.

EDGE Analysis

He will be in the lineup for the Bisons on Thursday, bringing with him a unique speed component. Berry, 31, stole 35 bases in 100 games with the Angels' Triple-A affiliate earlier this season and has 27 steals in 125 career MLB games.

Berry has been released by the Angels.

EDGE Analysis

Berry hit .270 with one home run and 32 RBI for Triple-A Salt Lake this season, but did record 35 steals. The 31-year-old will search elsewhere in hopes of a comeback.

Berry was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

EDGE Analysis

Berry has played in a grand total of 31 major league games over the last three seasons and was most recently with the Cubs organization before being brought in as a non-roster invitee. He struggled mightily at the dish this spring, going just 2-for-22 (.091) with eight strikeouts and two walks. He'll head down to minor league camp and figures to add organizational depth in the outfield, but as a 31-year old minor leaguer, his odds of making a fantasy impact are very slim.

Berry signed a minor league contract with the Angels on Tuesday that includes an invite to spring training.

EDGE Analysis

The 31-year-old will get to make his case for a roster spot in the spring, but it seems likely Berry will continue to serve as depth within his new organization. While Berry still has good speed and can play all three outfield positions, his .225/.326/.282 line at the Triple-A level last season will make it hard for any big-league club to justify giving him at-bats.

Berry declined an assignment to Triple-A Iowa and elected to become a free agent, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Berry has 27 stolen bases in 301 career at-bats in the majors, but stealing bases is about all the 30-year-old outfielder can do. Expect him to sign a minor league contract and fight for a job next spring.

Berry has been added to the Cubs' NLCS roster, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Addison Russell ruled out for the series, the Cubs opted to put the speedy Berry on their bench, presumably for use as a pinch-runner in the late innings.

Berry was called up from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

The 30-year-old will provide the Cubs with a quality pinch-run option after swiping 35 bags at Triple-A this season, his sixth 30-plus-steal campaign in the minors. Berry brings little else to the table, offensively, as evidenced by his .237/.340/.302 batting line in parts of five seasons at Triple-A, but he can also play all three outfield positions.
