Scherzer (4-1) was charged with the loss during Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies after giving up three runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts and zero walks over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander threw 65 of his 101 pitches for strikes and allowed runners on base in five of six innings, but he was able to limit the damage and keep the Mets close. It was the second straight start against the Phillies for Scherzer, and he surrendered seven earned runs with a 16:1 K:BB across 12 innings between the two contests. Overall he has a 2.92 ERA for the campaign and should next take the ball next weekend versus Seattle.

Scherzer and the Mets won't play against the Phillies on Saturday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
After Scherzer's start scheduled for Friday was pushed back due to inclement weather, the right-hander will have to wait at least one more day before taking the mound. The two teams will play a doubleheader Sunday, and Scherzer will likely start one of those games.

Scherzer and the Mets won't play Friday against the Phillies after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's matchup will be made up as part of a doubleheader in August. While the Mets haven't indicated their updated pitching plans, it wouldn't be surprising to see Scherzer start Saturday against the Phillies. The right-hander will attempt to bounce back after he allowed four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out nine in six innings against Philadelphia on Sunday.

Scherzer (4-0) picked up the win over the Phillies on Sunday night, allowing four runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- over six innings. He struck out nine and walked one.
EDGE Analysis
All of the damage was done on a trio of long balls, two by Kyle Schwarber and one off the bat of Bryce Harper. Homers were not a problem for Scherzer at all early on -- he gave up one home run in April -- so this will likely end up being a blip on the radar. The numbers for Scherzer are still elite; he has a 2.61 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in 31 innings, and is tied for second in MLB with 42 strikeouts.

Scherzer didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 5-2 win over the Cardinals, allowing only two hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
It was a vintage performance from Scherzer, who fired 71 of 101 pitches for strikes and generated 21 swinging strikes in blanking St. Louis. Unfortunately, he missed out on his fourth win of the year as the game was scoreless into the eighth inning. Scherzer has a dazzling 1.80 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB through 25 innings to begin his tenure with the Mets.

Scherzer (3-0) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Giants, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over seven innings. He struck out 10.
EDGE Analysis
The future Hall of Famer fired 66 of 102 pitches for strikes in his most dominant performance yet as a Met. Scherzer is off to a fantastic start to the campaign, posting a 2.50 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB through 18 innings while winning all three of his starts.

Scherzer (2-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-6 victory over the Phillies, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The 37-year-old looked shaky early, walking the bases loaded with one out in the first inning, but he escaped the jam without any damage and found a groove. Scherzer threw 96 pitches before exiting, 66 for strikes, and got more than enough run support to secure his second straight win as a Met. He has a 3.27 ERA and 13:4 K:BB through 11 innings to begin the season, and Scherzer will look to keep rolling in his next start, scheduled for Tuesday at home against the Giants.

Scherzer (1-0) picked up the win Friday against the Nationals, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk over six innings in a 7-3 victory. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
A Josh Bell homer in the fourth inning accounted for most of the offense his former club got off Scherzer, but he was otherwise sharp in his Mets debut and didn't seem bothered by the hamstring tweak that cost him the Opening Day assignment. The veteran right-hander got lifted after 80 pitches (53 strikes), but he could work a little deeper Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Scherzer (hamstring) said Thursday that he's been cleared to start Friday's game against the Nationals, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer tweaked his hamstring late in spring training but has been participating in activities in the days leading up to the regular season. He participated in several drills Thursday and will officially be on the mound for the second game of the regular season. While Tylor Megill is starting the Mets' Opening Day matchup against Washington on Thursday, it's encouraging that Scherzer will be available as the regular season gets underway.

Mets pitching coach Jeremy Hefner expressed confidence that Scherzer (hamstring) will be able to start Friday's game in Washington after suffering no setbacks while playing catch Wednesday, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
After completing a bullpen session Tuesday without incident, Scherzer did some lighter throwing Wednesday while testing his right hamstring out during fielding drills. He seemingly came out of the workout no worse for the wear, putting him in line to start the Mets' second game of the season Friday. Manager Buck Showalter has already named Tylor Megill the Mets' starter for Thursday's season opener in Washington, but with rain in the forecast that day in the D.C. area, the threat of postponement looms. If the game is cancelled, Scherzer could end up getting the Opening Day nod Friday after all, as Megill might be moved to the back of the pitching schedule in that scenario.
