Manager Buck Showalter said after Saturday's game that the team is hopeful Scherzer (side) will make his next start as scheduled, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer was lifted after only 67 pitches Saturday with what was described as a "fatigued" feeling in his left side. However, the skipper said Scherzer "probably could have continued to pitch but just didn't feel it was a good idea," per Tim Britton of The Athletic. While it sounds like Scherzer could make his date with the Marlins next week, we may not know his status for certain until after his next bullpen session.

Scherzer left Saturday's game against the Nationals "feeling fatigued on his left side," Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer was chasing his 200th career win, but this issue forced him from the game after only 67 pitches. He should be considered day-to-day for now. If there are any concerns about Scherzer's oblique, the Mets may have to give the right-hander some down time.

Scherzer was removed from Saturday's game against the Nationals after five innings and 67 pitches, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
A reason for his exit was not immediately available, but something seems to be up with Scherzer given the circumstances. The game was tied 1-1, he was chasing his 200th career win and his pitch count was manageable. The Mets figure to provide an update later in the evening.

Scherzer (9-4) took the loss Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings against the Rockies. He struck out 11.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer was effective Sunday as he reached double-digit strikeouts for the sixth time this season. The only damage against him came in the seventh inning when the Rockies manufactured a run on a couple of infield hits and a sacrifice fly. Scherzer now owns a 2.27 ERA, which would be good for sixth in the league if he had enough innings to qualify. He will try to get back in the win column in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for next weekend against Washington.

Scherzer (9-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer coughed up four runs for the second consecutive start and was tagged with his first loss since July 22. He yielded a solo home run to Aaron Judge in the third inning after now giving up a homer in any of his three previous starts. Scherzer's ERA is up to 2.33 alongside a 137:21 K:BB through 18 starts after punching out a season-low three batters. He's lined up to face the Rockies at home this weekend.

Scherzer (9-2) earned the win Wednesday, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in the Mets' 9-7 victory over the Braves. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Max was not at his best Wednesday but still earned the win against a red-hot Braves team. One factor to blame may be that the game was interrupted for a 1.5-hour rain delay in the third inning. Scherzer may have worn down by the sixth inning when the Braves tagged him for three of his runs allowed. Whatever the case, the Mets held the lead and earned the future Hall-of-Famer his ninth win of the season. He will take a 2.15 ERA into his next start.

Scherzer yielded one run on nine hits over seven innings in Friday's loss to the Phillies. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
It may not have been a prime Scherzer outing, but he turned in his 10th straight outing with two or fewer earned runs. He fired six scoreless innings Friday after giving up an RBI single to Alec Bohm in the first frame. Scherzer is sporting a terrific 1.93 ERA with a 126:17 K:BB through 16 starts. He's projected to start in Atlanta next week.

Scherzer (8-2) allowed four hits and struck out 11 across seven scoreless innings to earn the win in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer let only one runner pass second base in this outing. He threw 80 of 108 pitches for strikes while racking up a filthy 23 whiffs. The ace right-hander has submitted seven straight quality starts since returning from an oblique injury in early July, and he's recorded 11 strikeouts in three of those outings. For the year, he owns a 1.98 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 120:17 K:BB across 95.2 innings through 15 starts. Scherzer is projected for a home start versus the Phillies next week.

Scherzer (7-2) earned the win over Washington on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 6.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Facing the team with whom he won a World Series in 2019, Scherzer endured a rough fourth inning (during which he gave up both of his earned runs and four of his six hits) to notch his seventh victory of the campaign. The right-hander struck out only five batters -- his lowest mark since May 18 -- but nonetheless registered his sixth straight quality start. Scherzer has been all that the Mets could have hoped for when healthy this season, posting a 2.13 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 109:17 K: BB over 88.2 innings.

Scherzer allowed five hits, two walks and a hit batter in seven shutout innings versus the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out six but did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Scherzer pitched well enough to win, but David Peterson appeared out of the bullpen and allowed a game-tying two-run home run to Gleyber Torres in the eighth inning. This was Scherzer's third straight start without a win, his longest drought of the season. He now has a 2.09 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 104:15 K:BB in 82 innings across 13 starts, all but three of which have been quality starts. The ace right-hander lines up for a favorable road start versus the Nationals next week.
