He's not going to better the .778 OPS he posted in 2011, but Wieters is still putting the finishing touches on a second straight solid campaign. He'll be a top-five fantasy option at catcher next season.

Matt Wieters doubled twice and drove in five runs in Wednesday's 9-2 rout of the Mariners. In between a pair of two-RBI two-baggers in the first and seventh, Wieters plated a run with a third-inning groundout. The five RBI matched a season high from back on April 16. Wieters has driven in seven runs in his past two games after plating just one baserunner between July 30 and August 6. Now batting .246/.320/.424, he has 35 extra-base hits and 57 RBI through Baltimore's first 111 games.

Matt Wieters launched a pair of solo home runs on Tuesday night in Baltimore, helping the Orioles to a wild 8-7 victory over the visiting Mariners. Wieters finished the night 3-for-6. Both of his solo shots came courtesy of Mariners starter Blake Beavan. The 26-year-old backstop is still hitting just .244 on the season, but he's blasted 15 homers and tallied 52 RBI.

Matt Wieters, usually known for gunning down potential base stealers, displayed his own impressive wheels by swiping two bases in the O's 4-0 victory over the Rays. Wieters finished the night 1-for-3 with a walk and a run batted in. He came into the game with just two career stolen bases in three attempts, and doubled that output in one scintillating evening. His RBI single off Jeremy Hellickson in the first inning was his 50th RBI of the season and provided the winning run in the game.

Matt Wieters went 2-for-4 as the Orioles were shut out by Matt Moore and the Rays on Friday. The 26-year-old backstop is now hitting .244 on the year with 13 homers and 49 RBI. While it doesn't quite match up with the lofty preseason expectations, it's still a solid overall offensive season for one of the better catchers in the league.
