Matt Wieters is not in the Orioles' lineup Sunday. It appears to just be a breather. Steve Clevenger is catching Sunday in Wieters' place.

Matt Wieters is back in the Orioles' lineup Wednesday. Wieters missed Tuesday's game due to soreness in his right forearm, but he's feeling good enough to give it a go a day later. The backstop is off to a terrific start this season with a .321/.365/.518 batting line, three homers and 11 RBI.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter expects Matt Wieters (forearm) to be back in the lineup Wednesday. Wieters is sitting out Tuesday after feeling some soreness in his right forearm on a throw to second base during Sunday's game. However, the malady isn't viewed as a big deal. "I want to take some precaution with it," Showalter said Tuesday. I expect him to catch tomorrow."

Matt Wieters is out of the Orioles' lineup on Tuesday night due to right forearm soreness. Wieters told reporters that he felt the discomfort Sunday on a throw to second base. The Orioles are sure to give him a thorough examination. Steve Clevenger is starting at catcher Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Matt Wieters went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored on Monday to raise his average to .366. Is Wieters just teasing us again or is he finally ready to start fulfilling the offensive potential it looked like he had a few years back? Since hitting .288 as a rookie in 2009, he's come in at .249, .262, .249 and .235 the last four seasons. It'd be easier to buy in if he hadn't also gotten off to hot starts in 2011 and 2012 before letting his owners down.

Matt Wieters is not in the Orioles starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. Nothing more than a regular day of rest for Wieters. Steve Clevenger will get the start behind the dish and hit fifth for the Orioles.

Matt Wieters went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Orioles' loss to the Yankees on Monday. Wieters tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth with an RBI single. He also helped contribute to a seventh-inning rally that ultimately fell short. Wieters is now hitting .391 through 23 plate appearances to begin the regular season.

Matt Wieters went 3-for-4 with an RBI double against the Red Sox on Thursday. Wieters is off to a nice 5-for-11 start, though he has fanned four times already. We'd like him a little more this season if he weren't going to bat behind Nelson Cruz and, most likely, J.J. Hardy after Manny Machado returns. He's not going to get a lot of RBI opportunities batting after those two.

Matt Wieters hit a three-run homer Saturday as the Orioles beat the Triple-A Norfolk affiliate 4-3 in a rain-shortened game Saturday. Wieters went without a homer in 32 official spring at-bats. Last year, he hit .378 with five homers in 45 at-bats in the spring, then followed that with his a disappointing campaign. We liked him a little better for this year before the Orioles signed Nelson Cruz. Prior to that, it appeared he'd hit fifth. Now he could hit seventh below two lesser OBP guys (Cruz and J.J. Hardy) most of the time.

Matt Wieters (ankle) returned to the Orioles lineup on Wednesday. Weiters, previously sidelined by a minor ankle sprain, hadn't played in eight days. He might not have sat at all if the injury occurred during the regular season. He'll be ready for Opening Day.
