Wieters bashed a pair of doubles and scored a run in Friday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
He also whiffed twice to increase his strikeout rate to 19.7 percent on the season, although it's good to see some pop in the backstop's bat. Wieters currently possesses a .682 OPS (the lowest mark of his career), but three doubles over the past week and seven hits in 22 at-bats in that span have him trending in the right direction. He has yet to homer in the month of July, however, which is less than ideal for rotisserie leagues.

Wieters went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double in Friday's win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The switch-hitting catcher endured a sluggish first half at the plate, and Wieters' current .686 OPS would be the lowest of his career if he doesn't turn things around. The 31-year-old is capable of more, though, and some adjustments in his first season not only outside Baltimore but outside the American League are to be expected.

Wieters went 1-for-2 with a walk and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
A two-run single in the fifth inning and a sac fly in the seventh led the veteran catcher to his second straight game with multiple RBI. Wieters heads into the All-Star break with a lackluster .244/.295/.378 slash line, but his seven homers and 36 RBI still put him on pace for solid power production for his position.

Wieters is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mets, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Washington hosting its annual Fourth of July game at 12:05 p.m. EST, manager Dusty Baker will give several of his key veterans the afternoon off after appearing in Monday's series opener. Along with Wieters, who went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Monday, Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon will also take a seat. Jose Lobaton will fill in for Wieters behind the dish.

Wieters went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The Nats have been giving Wieters fairly frequent rest lately, as he's played in just eight of the last 12 games, but the plan seems to be working as he's gone 5-for-13 over his last three starts with three RBI. The 31-year-old's .257/.310/.392 slash line on the season remains fairly lackluster, however.
