Wieters is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
This marks Wieters' third absence in four games and fourth in the last six. Pedro Severino will start behind the plate against lefty Patrick Corbin and will likely continue to get most of the start against southpaws.

EDGE Analysis
Wieters will stay on the bench for a second straight game as Pedro Severino gets another start at catcher for the series finale in San Francisco. Over 11 appearances this season, Wieters is hitting just .194/.324/.387 with two home runs and three RBI.

Wieters is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters is hitting just .194 through 11 games this season, so he'll head to the bench to clear his head after starting three of the previous four games behind the dish. In his place, Pedro Severino will start at catcher and hit eighth.

Wieters (wrist) is in the lineup for Friday's matchup with the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters sat out the last two games due to his sore wrist, but he will return to action following a team off day Thursday. Wieters will start behind the plate and hit sixth against Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, who he has not faced in his career.

Wieters is sitting out Wednesday due to a sore wrist, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear which wrist is proving to be bothersome to the backstop, but it sheds light on why he's sitting out for the second day in a row. This seems like a day-to-day situation, so look for Wieters to try to return to the lineup Friday. Pedro Severino will fill in behind the plate while he's sidelined.

Wieters is out of the lineup for the second straight day Wednesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Pedro Severino will receive his second start in a row behind the plate. Wieters is off to a solid start everywhere except the batting average department through his first seven games. He's hitting .211, but his .375 on-base percentage and .526 slugging percentage are good for a 143 wRC+. He's also added two homers. If he keeps performing like that, he shouldn't lose too much playing time, though the sample is of course quite small.

Wieters went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
He's now homered in back-to-back games, and it seems safe to say Wieters is fully recovered from his minor oblique strain. Pedro Severino is hitting well right now, but the starting catching job for the Nats belongs to the veteran, especially if Wieters keeps supplying the offense with some much-needed power.

Wieters went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single Saturday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Wieters got off to a slow start to the season at the plate, due in part to injuries. In that same vein, the two RBI he collected in Saturday's contest were his first of the season. He's currently 3-for-14 (.214), but still appears to be the top catcher in the pecking order for Washington even with the slow start.
