Tigers recalled RHP Luke Putkonen from Triple-A Toledo. He'll take the roster spot of Octavio Dotel, who was placed on the disabled list with elbow inflammation. Putkonen allowed seven runs in 7 1/3 innings during his first stint in the big leagues earlier this season. Look for him middle relief.

Tigers purchased the contract of RHP Luke Putkonen from Triple-A Toledo. Putkonen has registered a 1.38 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 10/5 K/BB ratio in 13 innings this season at the Triple-A level. He'll function as a middle reliever for Detroit.
