Giolito (lat) was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Sept. 14.
EDGE Analysis
It was reported Monday that Giolito would miss the rest of the season, so the move to place him on the injured list was procedural only. The White Sox have no long-term concerns about Giolito's health, so expect him to be good to go for the start of spring training.

Giolito's lat strain is not a long-term concern, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito was shut down for the season with a lat strain Monday, but described the issue as "as mild as it gets." It doesn't sound as though he'll be affected by the time next season begins.

Giolito won't pitch again this season after being diagnosed with a mild lat strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito evidently picked up the injury during his last start Thursday against Kansas City, and as a result, he'll be shut down for the last few weeks of the 2019 campaign. Ross Detwiler will start for Giolito on Tuesday in Minnesota.

Giolito (14-9) allowed five earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out 12 across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito surrendered only two runs through five innings but allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base in the sixth inning. He then coughed up a three-run homer to sour his performance. Positively, he still racked up 12 strikeouts and let only six hitters reach base. Even with his failure to limit runs in this start, Giolito has allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of his last seven outings. For the season, he owns a 3.41 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 228 strikeouts across 176.2 innings. He's scheduled to take the ball next on Tuesday at Minnesota.

Giolito allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six over seven innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito did his part, leaving with the White Sox up, 4-2, but Aaron Bummer and Alex Colome gave up home runs, negating what would have been the right-hander's 15th win in a season that has put him in the mix for a Cy Young. He'll next take the mound Thursday at home against Kansas City.

Giolito (14-8) yielded four runs on four hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out seven batters and taking the loss against Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito was terrorized by Freddie Freeman, giving up a pair of two-run homers to the Braves slugger. On the bright side, he retired 14 straight batters after allowing the first long ball. The 25-year-old owns a 3.30 ERA and 210:55 K:BB. He'll face the Angels at home Friday.

Giolito (14-7) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out nine to pick up the loss against the Twins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito pitched well against an opponent that is familiar to him -- Minnesota tagged him for seven runs in loss July 25 -- but he got little support from his mates. This was his sixth straight quality start (2.25 ERA, 62 strikeouts, 40 innings) following a rough four-start stretch (7.06 ERA) that would have likely torpedoed the right-hander's season last year. Giolito dropped his season ERA to 3.20, fifth in the AL, and will next take the hill on the road Sunday against the Braves.

Giolito (14-6) allowed three hits and no walks while striking out 12 to turn in a complete-game shutout and earn the win Wednesday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
As his line suggests, Giolito dominated the Twins to turn in his second complete-game shutout of the season. This wasn't an isolated effort however, as he now has double-digit strikeouts in each of his past three starts and has seven or more punchouts in seven consecutive outings. In the midst of a breakout campaign, Giolito has a 3.20 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 194 strikeouts across 151.2 innings for the season. He'll look to keep things going in his next start, currently scheduled for Tuesday in a rematch against the Twins.

Giolito (13-6) allowed two runs on six hits and three walks over six innings, striking out 11 and earning the win versus the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito left the game with a 3-2 lead after the solid pitching performance, and an eighth-inning grand slam by James McCann secured the victory. Giolito recorded double-digit strikeouts for the second consecutive game and fourth time overall this year. He has now allowed three runs or fewer in six of his seven starts since the All-Star break. The right-hand owns a 3.41 ERA and 182:51 K:BB through 142.2 innings this season. Giolito lines up to face the Rangers on Thursday for his next start.

Giolito (12-6) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out 13 and taking the loss against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox couldn't get anything going at the plate to support Giolito's strong outing in which he set a new career-high with 13 punchouts. The 25-year-old coughed up a two-run homer to Matt Olson, the only runs that either team would score in the contest. His ERA fell to 3.42 with a 171:48 K:BB over 136.2 frames in his breakout campaign. Giolito will face the Angels on the road in Friday.
