Brinson agreed to a contract Jan. 11 with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, Sports Hochi reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson spent the 2022 season in the Houston and San Francisco organizations. His lone big-league action came with the latter club, with the 28-year-old slashing .167/.211/.472 with three home runs and a stolen base in 39 plate appearances before being pushed off the 40-man roster. Rather than settling for a minor-league deal this winter after electing free agency in October, Brinson opted to head overseas for the first time in his career on what's presumably a more lucrative deal with Yomiuri.

Brinson cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson was cast off the Giants' 40-man roster Wednesday, and he'll remain in the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 28-year-old has slashed .296/.354/.571 with 22 home runs, 63 RBI, 61 runs and five stolen bases over 85 Triple-A games this year.

Brinson was designated for assignment by the Giants on Wednesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson has a respectable .766 OPS with the Giants this season over 35 plate appearances, but his .235 OBP is far below what they were hoping to get from him and he now faces more time in the minors should he go unclaimed. The move comes as a direct consequence of San Francisco adding Jason Vosler to the major-league roster.

Brinson went 0-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson's hitless stretch extended to 0-for-11, but he picked up his first walk and stolen base as a Giant in this contest. He hit three home runs in his first five games with San Francisco, but he's since cooled off and remains unlikely to see more than a short-side platoon role down the stretch. He's added four RBI, four runs scored and a .192/.250/.577 slash line through 29 plate appearances.

Brinson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson hit his third homer in the last two games as he continues to thrive against left-handed pitching. He's now batting .333 through five games as a Giant, adding four RBI and three runs scored. He could find himself locked into the short side of a platoon in center field going forward as long as his bat remains steady.

Brinson went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 7-4 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson got the Giants on the board with a two-run blast in the third inning and added a solo shot in the ninth as insurance. He's started the last two games in center field, and the right-handed hitter could continue to get looks early this week against a Dodgers rotation that's heavy on southpaws. Brinson has gone 4-for-11 with three extra-base hits (two homers, one double) through his first four games as a Giant.

Brinson was traded from the Astros to the Giants on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson failed to win a spot on the Astros' Opening Day roster this year after serving as a non-roster invitee during spring training. He's slashed .296/.354/.571 with 22 home runs, 63 RBI, 61 runs and five stolen bases over 85 games at Triple-A Sugar Land this year and will now join the Giants' major-league roster as outfield depth since active rosters expanded to 28 players Thursday.

Brinson was reassigned to minor-league camp Saturday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson was in camp on a minor-league deal, and while he managed an .842 OPS in six spring games, that evidently wasn't enough to convince the Astros to select his contract. A career .199/.248/.323 hitter in parts of five seasons in the majors, Brinson will have to show some growth in the minors before earning his next opportunity.

Brinson joined the Astros on a minor-league deal Saturday, freelance reporter Michael Schwab reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson was once a big enough prospect to headline a trade for Christian Yelich, but he simply hasn't come close to putting things together at the big-league level. In 341 career MLB games, he's hit just .199/.248/.323. While he did manage a career-best 24.8 percent strikeout rate last season, he still hit an uninspiring .226/.263/.376. Now 27 years old, there probably isn't much growth left here, but it's possible the Astros coax enough out of him for him to earn a bench spot.

Brinson was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Brinson was a highly-touted prospect when acquired from the Brewers in January of 2018, but he's failed to live up to that potential for the past few years. The 27-year-old appeared in 89 games for the Marlins last season and hit .226/.263/.376 with nine home runs, 33 RBI and 24 runs in 89 big-league contests. The move creates room on Miami's 40-man roster for Joey Wendle, who was acquired from Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
