Seager is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Seager is currently in the midst of a modest five game hit streak (6-for-19), but will head to the bench as left-hander Andrew Heaney starts for the Angels. Kris Negron will start at third base and bat eighth for the Mariners.

Seager went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and a double in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Seager seems to be showing some signs of life at the plate as the season winds down, as he's now hit safely in four straight, a span during which he's laced three extra-base hits (two doubles, one home run). The veteran third baseman continues to man the hot corner on an everyday basis despite his lackluster offensive season, and with 55 extra-base hits (34 doubles, 21 homers), he's at least offering plenty of pop from the latter half of the order.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Seager gave the Mariners a glimmer of hope with his ninth-inning solo shot, which brought Seattle to within 5-4 at the time. The veteran third baseman has salvaged an otherwise underwhelming season with a strong showing on the power front (21 homers), but his .216/.268/.397 line has frustrated fantasy owners by falling well short of his career norms.

Seager went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks in a loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran third baseman has endured a difficult season overall, with both his average (.216) and on-base percentage (.268) qualifying as career worsts. Granted, Seager has managed to hit the 20-home-run mark for the seventh straight season, and his 72 RBI are certainly a respectable figure. However, many of those numbers were compiled prior to the All-Star break, as Seager is hitting just .174 with four homers and 16 RBI over the second half of the campaign.

Seager is not in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Seager is mired in a deep slump, producing just a .483 OPS over the past 30 games. Between that and southpaw CC Sabathia taking the hill for New York, Sunday made for a good off-day for Seager. Kris Negron will replace him at the hot corner.

Seager is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Orioles, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

Seager has started 10 straight games, slashing just .154/.171/.231 across those contests. Robinson Cano will take over at the hot corner as Seager looks to hit the reset button.

Seager is not in the lineup against the Astros on Wednesday, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Seager will head to the bench following 19 straight starts as Robinson Cano gets the assignment at third base. This provides Seager with a much needed day off, since he's hitting just .146/.222/.293 with six RBI and 12 strikeouts in 11 games dating back to Aug. 10.

Seager went 1-for-2 with two walks and a three-run home run in Saturday's win over the Dodgers.

EDGE Analysis

He got Seattle out to an early lead, connecting on a three-run homer against lefty Rich Hill in the first inning. It was his 20th homer of the season and Seager has now reached 20 home runs in seven consecutive seasons. Unfortunately, those contributions have been offset to a large extent this year by another sizable dip in batting average -- he's outside the top 20 at third base in earned rotisserie value to date.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

After leaving the yard just once over a 27-game span between June 28 and August 4, Seager's power stroke has apparently returned. The veteran has slugged a trio of round trippers over the last two games, leaving him just one short of hitting the 20-homer mark for the seventh straight season. Seager's season average (.231) and on-base percentage (.280) both still remain considerably below his respective .260 and .327 career metrics, but his 7-for-25 (.280) start to August and recent propensity for hard contact provides some reason for optimism.

Seager went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Sunday against the Blue Jays.

EDGE Analysis

Seager took both Sam Gaviglio and Joe Biagini deep to bring his home run total up to 18 for the season. The two longballs mark his first since July 4, and is also his first multi-homer effort of the season. He has turned in a disappointing .231/.280/.421 slash line through 416 at-bats this season.
