Naylor was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Naylor figures to serve as the team's fourth outfielder after Franmil Reyes was traded away to Cleveland in a three-team deal earlier in the week. The 22-year-old outfielder hit .236/.287/.358 with three home runs and a stolen base in a 41-game stint with the Padres earlier in the season.

Naylor was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The move had been widely reported Saturday, but the club made the official move to make room for Michel Baez and Adrian Morejon on the 25-man roster. Naylor hit .236/.287/.358 across 41 games in his first major-league experience.

Naylor will be optioned prior to Sunday's game against the Cubs, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Naylor has been with the big-league team for nearly two months but hasn't particularly impressed, hitting .238/.289/.362 with three homers in 40 games. As a player whose value comes almost exclusively from his bat, he'll have to hit much better during his next opportunity if he's to stick around. Adrian Morejon will be called up to take his place on the roster.

Naylor went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit solo homer in a 6-5 loss against the Cubs on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Although the Padres suffered defeat anyway, thanks to Naylor, starter Eric Lauer avoided the loss -- Naylor tied the game with his long ball. Naylor hasn't displayed much power this season, as this was his first homer since June 5. He is batting .238 with three home runs, 16 RBI, 11 runs and one steal in 105 at-bats this season.

Naylor was a late addition to the Padres' lineup Friday against the Cardinals, hitting fifth and manning left field.
EDGE Analysis
Hunter Renfroe (illness) was a late scratch, and the Padres opted to give Naylor the nod over Wil Myers. Naylor has not been playing much and is hitting just .218 with two home runs in 55 at-bats this month.

Naylor will start in right field and bat fifth Saturday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
With Franmil Reyes getting the day off, Naylor will crack the lineup for only the second time in the Padres' last six games. Since being promoted from Triple-A El Paso on May 24, Naylor has managed a lowly .229/.260/.357 slash line across 73 plate appearances. With his production leaving much to be desired and his playing time dwindling, Naylor could be headed back to the minors in the near future.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run, and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Naylor drew a spot start in place of Hunter Renfroe in left field and proved valuable during a two-run ninth inning. Naylor knocked a single to score Eric Hosmer, then stole second base before coming around to score the winning run on Austin Hedges' single. Naylor is hitting .244 with two homers and 11 RBI this season, and the stolen base was the first of his major-league career.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
His first career homer gave the Padres an early lead in the second inning. Naylor's seen action in both outfield corners since his promotion, but his .200/.200/.400 slash line and 0:9 BB:K through seven games suggests his stay with San Diego could end up being brief.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting rookie will take a seat for the series finale in New York with a tough southpaw (James Paxton) on the bump for the Yankees. Through his first five appearances in the big leagues, Naylor has gone 4-for-20 with two doubles, three RBI and eight strikeouts. With the designated-hitter spot no longer available to the Padres when they resume National League play Friday against the Marlins, it's unclear if Naylor will remain with the big club. He doesn't have a clear path to an everyday role and would offer little appeal as a bench option, given his lack of defensive value.

Naylor went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI in a 19-4 rout of the Blue Jays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
After going hitless in his MLB debut, Naylor checked in with his first three major-league hits in the second spot in the order. The 21-year-old had been mashing in Triple-A to earn the callup, so perhaps he can continue to translate his impressive power and excellent plate discipline to the big club and earn regular at-bats from manager Andy Green.
