Bautista will bat leadoff for the Blue Jays going forward, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

With normal leadoff hitter Kevin Pillar slashing just .162/.205/.257 in 17 games (78 plate appearances) in June, manager John Gibbons is looking to shake things up in an attempt to revitalize a struggling Blue Jays offense that ranks 26th in the league with 299 runs scored this season. While Bautista surely isn't having his best year offensively, the team 36-year-old still owns a respectable .333 OBP in 300 plate appearances (70 games) this season. Bautista, who led off in 40 games last season, owns a combined .226/.329/.484 triple slash in 143 career games as the leadoff hitter.

Bautista went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Monday's win over Texas.

EDGE Analysis

After a torrid finish to the month of May, Bautista has posted a disappointing .512 OPS with just two homers and three RBI through 16 June games. The 36-year-old slugger is well past his prime, and dating back to last season, his peaks and valleys at the dish have been more pronounced. He's still a serviceable fantasy asset, and especially in formats including on-base percentage.

Bautista went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs in Tuesday's win over the Reds.

EDGE Analysis

After a very slow opening month of the season, Joey Bats has gotten things going in May. Nine of his 10 home runs have come in May, and he's collected multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's hitting a robust .414 during that stretch, raising to his season average to a respectable .251. With fellow slugger Josh Donaldson back in the lineup, Bautista can be counted on for excellent run production moving forward.

Bautista went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer Saturday against the Rangers.

EDGE Analysis

Bautista launched his ninth homer of the campaign off Yu Darvish to provide the only runs the Blue Jays would score in a home victory. After a horrible start to the season, he's hit seven homers over his last 14 games to raise his slugging percentage to .433, helping give fantasy owners confidence to keep using him in their lineups.

Bautista went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs during Wednesday's win over Milwaukee.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran is locked in at the dish with a .408/.517/.857 slash line with six bombs, 14 RBI and 16 runs through his past 14 games. After beginning the year in a 6-for-55 funk, the current heater has him up to a .790 OPS for the campaign. Still, it wouldn't be shocking if Bautista had a few more offensive peaks and valleys going forward.

Bautista is starting at third base Tuesday against the Brewers.

EDGE Analysis

This marks the first time since 2013 that the slugger will pick up a start at the hot corner. This could raise his value if your league adds positional eligibility from just one appearance at a position, but it's unlikely that Bautista will pick up much more time there after Tuesday's bout, so most other leagues will just have to enjoy the novelty of the start at third base. Bautista is still batting third for Toronto, so he should continue to enjoy the benefits of hitting in a run-producing position at the hitter's haven of Miller Park.

Bautista went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run during Saturday's loss to Baltimore.

EDGE Analysis

The slugger has hit a groove in May with six home runs, 15 RBI, 15 runs and a .300/.410/.629 slash line. Bautista also slotted in at third base late in the game, which is the second time he's played the position this season. Gaining eligibility at the hot corner would add versatility and a boost to his fantasy value.

Bautista went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Thursday's 9-0 win over Atlanta.

EDGE Analysis

The offensive outburst continues for Bautista, who is now hitting .423/.500/.923 in the last seven games to raise his overall season average to .216. After a rough start for the slugging right fielder, it looks like he is finally turning a corner with the bat. Keep him installed in your fantasy lineup.

Bautista fell a triple short of the cycle Wednesday in Atlanta, going 3-for-4 with a single, a double, a homer and two runs scored.

EDGE Analysis

Seemingly asleep at the plate for much of the season, Bautista finally looks to be waking up. He's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with four homers, 10 RBI and a 6:5 BB:K over the last 10 games. It's been a painful wait, but Bautista's finally looking like himself again.

Bautista went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's victory over Seattle.

EDGE Analysis

It was the fifth home run of the season for Bautista, giving the Blue Jays a lead that they would not let up. It's the second straight game with a homer for the slugger, who now sees his slash line sit at .185/.309/.333 on the season. It certainly isn't where fantasy owners had hoped it would be at this point in the season, but even with an elevated strikeout rate, he should still be installed in your fantasy lineup for the power potential alone.
