Santana has left the Blue Jays organization and halted his 2015 comeback, Toronto's Play-By-Play Broadcaster Mike Wilner reports. Santana inked a minor league deal with the Blue Jays before spring training this past winter, but injuries have derailed his attempt to make it back to the big league this season. ESPN NY's Adam Rubin reported that Santana has been slowed by a toe infection this year, but will try to make another run at a comeback next season.

Santana (shoulder) will remain with the Blue Jays past his opt out date April 28, Scott MacArthur of TSN 1050 reports. Santana continues to work his way back from a shoulder issue, and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012. He began throwing off flat ground in earlier April with the hopes of returning to the mound at some point later in the month, but there's no word of that yet. If he eventually does return to the mound and subsequently to game action at some point, it's unclear right now whether he would serve as anything more than organizational depth.

Santana is throwing off flat ground and hopes to get back on a mound later in April, Ken Fidlin of the Toronto Sun reports. The 35-year-old hasn't pitched since 2012 and hasn't pitched more than 25 starts since 2010. The former Cy Young winner still has a long road ahead of him, but because he's still on the same track laid out late in March. Santana needs to demonstrate that he's not only healthy, but also effective before he's really worth consideration in fantasy leagues.

Santana (shoulder) is progressing, but is not expected to throw off a mound until mid-April, SportsNet's Shi Davidi reports. The Blue Jays will look to Santana and possibly Randy Wolf at some point if their rookies (Daniel Norris and Aaron Sanchez) struggle in the rotation. Still, as a seventh or eighth starter returning from serious injury, Santana is only worth an investment in the deepest of leagues.

Santana (shoulder) signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays that includes an invite to major league spring training, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports. The 34-year-old lefty hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012, when he posted a 4.85 ERA, 4.09 FIP and 111:39 K:BB over 117 innings for the Mets. He signed with the Orioles last spring, and after recurring shoulder issues delayed his potential debut, Santana went down for the season with a torn Achilles at extended spring training. He then played for a team in the Venezuelan Winter League, only to be shut down early when shoulder discomfort again reared it's head. An MRI revealed no structural damage, and the Blue Jays thus decided to take a very small risk on the former Cy Young winner. Now that Santana's with a team, it's possible that we'll get some more solid information on his shoulder.

Santana, who is dealing with shoulder discomfort, will miss the remainder of the Venezuelan Winter League championship series, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reports. Santana is hoping to make a comeback this season, and while a recent MRI revealed no structural damage, his history of shoulder issues means any problem is likely significant. If he feels better within the next few weeks, Santana could still make a bid to sign with a major league team.

Santana will miss the Venezuelan Winter League finale due to shoulder discomfort, but an MRI revealed no structural damage, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reports. Santana has been working out with a Venezeulan winter ball team with hopes of making a comeback this season, but suffered another setback with more shoulder discomfort. While the lack of structural damage is encouraging, team's may be less willing to ink the veteran if he continues to show signs of a bum shoulder.

Santana is working out with a Venezuelan winter ball team and is intent on a making a comeback, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports. As Santana was approaching the final stretch in his recovery from a shoulder injury, he tore an Achilles during an extended spring training outing, effectively bringing his season to a close. However, Santana was coming back from a second torn anterior capsule in his pitching shoulder and his comeback was hardly a sure thing before his Achilles injury. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2012.

Orioles transferred LHP Johan Santana from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Josh Stinson on the 40-man roster. Santana tore his Achilles tendon during a start in extended spring training on Friday and will miss the rest of the season.

Johan Santana has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the 2014 season. Santana sustained the injury while retrieving a ball during an extended spring training appearance on Friday. It's a very tough break for the veteran southpaw who was expected to join the Orioles rotation in a couple of weeks. It's unclear if this will end his career, or if he'll once again attempt to rehab and make another comeback.
