Panik went 4-for-6 (all singles) with a pair of runs scored in Friday's 13-2 rout of the Brewers. Since returning from his one game absence due to a finger injury, Panik has gone 6-for-13 (.462). He doesn't offer very much power (.376 SLG) or speed (zero stolen bases), but he is hitting for average right now and could provide some runs hitting second in the Giants' lineup. Definitely worth a look for those in need of a middle infielder.

Panik is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies. Panik has started the last two times the Giants have faced lefty starters, but manager Bruce Bochy will turn to Matt Duffy to man the keystone Tuesday against Jorge De La Rosa. The 23-year-old Panik has raised his average by more than 80 points with a torrid month of August (.378/.410/.473) and it seems likely he'll continue to see near-everyday time over the final month of the season.

Panik was 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the Giants win over Washington on Friday night. His red-hot August continues, and he logged his first Major League home run in this one. He now has 13 RBI and a shiny .316 average so he has been earning more regular playing time which has put him on the fantasy radar.

Pence smacked his 17th home run and swiped his 11th stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Cubs. Pence is batting a season-low .257 in the month of August, but the counting stats have been there, already collecting four homers and tying his month-best 12 RBI total. His runs have dipped this month since Angel Pagan's return, which pushed Pence back into the the two-hole.

Panik went 3-for-5 with a run and RBI Wednesday versus the Cubs. Panik showed no signs being bothered by the finger he hurt on Sunday. The rookie second baseman is riding a six game hit streak and slashing .404/.436/.481 in 52 August at-bats.

Panik (finger) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs. The 23-year-old dislocated his right pinky finger on a slide into second base Sunday, but apparently the finger held up well to batting practice as he in penciled in to return Wednesday against right-hander Edwin Jackson. After a dismal start to his big league career, Panik has come on strong this month, batting .383/.420/.468 in 13 games.

Panik (finger) is out of the lineup again Tuesday but thinks he might be able to play as soon as Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Panik had to have his pinky finger popped back into place after dislocating the digit on a slide into second base Sunday, but X-rays were negative and he remains just day-to-day. Joaquin Arias will draw the start at second base in his absence, but Panik will take some swings on the field prior to the game to test the injury.

X-rays on Panik's injured pinky finger came back negative, Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Panik considers himself day-to-day based on the pain level, but it remains to be seen if he will take the field when the Giants resume play Tuesday following a team off day.

Panik is out of the Giants' lineup Friday against the Royals. Matt Duffy was brought back and will start at the keystone Friday, pushing Panik to the bench against lefty Jason Vargas. Panik has collected nine hits in his last four games but manager Bruce Bochy will likely continue to limit his exposure to lefties.
