Bleday has drawn a walk in five straight games and reached base successfully in 10 straight, and while he's batting only .156 (5-for-32) over that stretch, four of the hits have gone for extra bases (two doubles, two homers). Since his promotion in late July, he's slashing .213/.321/.426 through 109 plate appearances with four homers and three steals.

Bleday provided the only offense for the Marlins on Tuesday, taking a Zack Wheeler fastball deep to right field in the fourth inning for his second home run of the season. The rookie outfielder is now slashing just .218/.283/.382 in 16 games since being called up from Triple-A on July 22. While he generated a strong 124 wRC+ in 85 games at Triple-A this year, he was buoyed by a high HR/FB ratio of 18.9 percent, so it remains to be seen whether he will find success in the majors.

The fourth overall pick in the 2019 has had a disappointing career so far in the Miami system, but Bleday might finally be putting things together. After going yard in both halves of Friday's twin bill the 24-year-old has hit safely in eight straight games, slashing .414/.528/.828 over that stretch with three homers, nine RBI, 10 runs and a sparkling 7:6 BB:K. That hot streak follows a .159/.321/.286 line over his first 18 games for Jacksonville, however, so Bleday likely has a ways to go before he'll put himself in line for his first promotion to the majors.
