Jeffress tossed a scoreless frame and picked up his fourth hold of the season in Sunday's victory over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress entered Sunday's contest in the sixth inning with the bases loaded and no one out, but he retired the next three batters in order -- two via strikeout -- to quash the Marlins' rally and keep starter Junior Guerra in line for the win. Jeffress has just 11 strikeouts and no saves on the season, which limits his fantasy utility outside the ratio categories. However, he has been one of the Brewers' most important relievers this year, and figures to continue seeing work in key spots.

Jeffress struck out two batters over 1.1 scoreless innings in Sunday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress continues to produce out of the Brewers' bullpen, and has now kept the opponent off the scoreboard eight times in nine appearances this season. Jeffress was asked to pick up tough outs several times of late and converted each time, so it's clear manager Craig Counsell has confidence in him right now. However, that notion has not turned into saves for Jeffress and has fantasy owners, as Jeffress has pitched so well in his role that Counsell has opted not to mess with success. That could change though, if Jeffress' fellow relievers continue struggling late in games.

Jeffress faced only one batter in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals, but he was able to record the final out of the seventh inning by striking out Marcell Ozuna.
EDGE Analysis
For the second night in a row, Jeffress entered the game in a key spot and delivered. He has worked situationally up to this point of the season, but with him allowing just one run in seven innings (1.29 ERA) and not walking any batters since his first appearance, there is a chance he could see action in a setup or save situation next time one arises with the Brewers struggling to close out games of late.

Jeffress threw 1.1 perfect innings in Monday's victory over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress has now allowed just one run over 6.2 innings (1.35 ERA) this season, and his appearance Monday was key, as he stranded a runner at third base to end the fifth inning and then got the next three batters out the following frame. However, the most notable aspect of Monday's outing was the fact he entered the contest in the fifth inning, as he had been mentioned as a potential closer in the absence of Corey Knebel (hamstring). Even though he is throwing well and owns 28 career saves, it looks like he will remain in middle relief for now: fellow righty relievers Matt Albers and Jacob Barnes both entered Monday's game after Jeffress, and Albers looks to be the leading candidate for saves for now, with Barnes next in line.

Jeffress blew the save for the Brewers on Friday, giving up a run on two hits while striking out one as Milwaukee eventually fell to the Cubs 5-4.
EDGE Analysis
With Corey Knebel on the disabled list, the Brewers were expected to move to a closer-by-committee situation and Jeffress was one of the candidates for opportunities considering his experience in the role saving 27 games for the team in 2016. That wasn't an encouraging audition for the role with Knebel out, though, so hold off on adding him as your handcuff until the situation in Milwaukee fleshes itself out.

Jeffress could be in line for some saves as the Brewers employ a closer committee to cover for the injured Corey Knebel (hamstring), Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Knebel will be out for at least six weeks. Manager Craig Counsell confirmed that a committee will be used, though he didn't mention specific names. Jeffress is likely one of the favorites to receive at least a handful of opportunities, as he's closed for the Brewers in the past, saving 27 games back in 2016. His strikeout rate has been below 18 percent since 2015, making him not necessarily a prototypical candidate for the role, though the Brewers don't have anyone else with any real closing experience on the roster.

Jeffress pitched two scoreless innings and picked up the win in the Brewers' Opening Day victory over the Padres on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress helped bail out the Brewers after closer Corey Knebel blew the save in the ninth inning, tossing two clean frames in extra innings before turning the ball over to Jacob Barnes, who ultimately secured the save. While he picked up the win, Jeffress was the fourth reliever into the game for the Brewers, which is essentially where he stands in the bullpen out of the gate.

Jeffress has not allowed an earned run through four appearances this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress has had the most success in his career with the Brewers, which led him to re-sign with the club during the offseason. He will likely be part of the Brewers' late-inning mix when the regular season begins, but he will work as part of a group of relievers rather than operate as a true setup man.

Jeffress agreed to a deal with the Brewers on Friday, to avoid arbitration, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jeffress will return to the Brewers after spending the last two months of 2017 with the team following his trade from Texas. During 61 games between the two clubs, he posted a 4.68 ERA and 1.64 WHIP, while sporting a 51:34 K:BB over 65.1 innings. Although Jeffress won't return to a ninth-inning role that he's had in the past, he should still be a key contributor out of Milwaukee's bullpen.

Jeffress gave up two runs on four hits over two innings in Friday's 10-2 win over the Marlins, but he did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Making a rare start out of necessity, Jeffress was the only Brewer pitcher to get touched up for runs on a bullpen day. The right-hander threw only 31 pitches (23 strikes), so he shouldn't need more than a couple of days rest before being available in middle relief once again.
