Shuck is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians, CSN's Dan Hayes reports. Shuck will make his first start of the season in place of Avisail Garcia, who is getting the day off Wednesday. He will bat seventh against Indians starter Trevor Bauer.

Shuck will make the big league roster as the team's fourth outfielder, manager Robin Ventura announced Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Shuck struggled mightily in 38 major league games in 2014, but had an impressive spring showing with a .360/.418/.460 slash line and five steals in 23 games. The 27-year-old apparently passed Emilio Bonafacio in the club's outfield ranks, so he figures to get the majority of the backup duties there to begin the season.

Shuck went 2-for-3 with a steal in the White Sox's loss to the Brewers on Sunday. The two hits raised Shuck's Cactus League average to .394, and the steal was his fourth in 33 at-bats. It appears he is playing his way into the conversation for the final spot on the roster.

Shuck was claimed off waivers by the White Sox on Monday. He slashed .145/.168/.209 in 38 games between Anaheim and Cleveland last season, and will probably not be used as an everyday player with the White Sox.

Shuck was acquired from the Angels by the Indians for cash considerations and will join the team Saturday. Shuck will give the Indians some speed off the bench and an extra body for September but doesn't figure to make much of an impact.

The Angels designated Shuck for assignment Tuesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports. Shuck once again walked more than he struck out in the minors this season, resulting in an impressive .320/.382/.446 batting line at Triple-A Salt Lake, but apparently the club feels he is undeserving of spot with the big club over the final month of the season. Brennan Boesch, C.J. Cron and Tony Campana were recalled to bolster the team's bench.

J.B. Shuck blasted a leadoff home run off Max Scherzer in Saturday's loss to the Tigers. As terrific of a start to the game as it was, it would be the only run that they would scratch across on the afternoon. Shuck, hitting out of the leadoff spot in the lineup, finished the day 1-for-4 and is hitting a disappointing .189/.211/.351 in the early going.

J.B. Shuck went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's lopsided win over the Mets. Shuck batted leadoff and came through with three singles. He's hit in each of his first three games after being called up Wednesday, now batting .357 (5-for-14). He should continue to get the majority of the starts in left field during Josh Hamilton's extended absence.
