Jason Bay snapped an 0-for-23 skid while going 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored on Monday. Bay's single was his first his since June 21. Obviously, he still has a ways to go.

Jason Bay singled and launched a solo homer off Nationals' closer Tyler Clippard Wednesday. His bomb drew the Mets to within one run before Jordany Valdespin, who delivered a pinch-hit blast in Bay's place Tuesday, struck out to end it. Bay is hitting just .195 over 24 games in his injury-shortened season, but the Mets are committed to sticking with him.

Jason Bay (concussion) went 0-for-2 with two walks Monday in his third rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo. Bay also played entire game in left field, which included on embarrassing moment where he lost a ball in the lights. The veteran outfielder is 3-for-10 with three walks and three strikeouts in three games with the Bisons and hasn't had any setbacks following his concussion last month. The Mets have yet to make an official announcement, but the veteran outfielder is expected to be activated from the disabled list for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Updating a previous item, Jason Bay (concussion) is expected to rejoin the Mets on Tuesday. The Mets likely want Bay available for the series opener against Washington, where he'll start against lefthanders Ross Detwiler and Gio Gonzalez. The Newark Star-Ledger reported that Bay wouldn't be back until Wednesday, but evidently he'll return on Tuesday, as originally expected. The Mets will need to announce a corresponding move prior to his return.

Jayson Bay (concussion) is expected to move his rehab assignment Saturday to Triple-A Buffalo. The Mets have yet to confirm anything, but this would obviously indicate he's recovering on schedule. Barring an unforeseen setback, Bay should return for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
