Jason Bay hit a pair of home runs in Tuesday's victory over the Dodgers. He collected four RBI in the game and continues to show signs of life. Bay is now working on an eight-game hitting streak. He's hitting .366 during that stretch and only didn't pick up at least one RBI in two of those games. Bay was hitting .207 on June 14 but has raised his average to .252 since then. Ride him while he's hot.

Jason Bay continued to show signs of life on Wednesday, drawing four walks while going 1-for-3 with an RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases in New York's 16-9 pasting of the Tigers in Detroit. Bay is having quite the series in Detroit. Of course, he is still just two for his past 13 at the plate, but it's hard to argue with this kind of performance on the heels of his Tuesday grand slam. If you've been looking for a reason, any reason, to take a flier on Bay in your mixed league, there's never been a better time than now.

Both Jason Bay (neck) and Justin Turner (thumb) will return to the lineup Sunday. Bay sat out Saturday with a stiff neck, while Turner missed the game after aggravating a thumb injury. They'll square off against the Rangers' Derek Holland.

Jason Bay is not in Saturday's lineup due to a stiff neck. Bay has actually swung the bat better of late, as he had three singles Friday and is batting .378 over his last nine games, so it's a shame he has to miss any time. But, it seems likely that he'll be ready to play Sunday.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that he intends to use Jason Bay out of the cleanup spot against left-handed starters. Bay batted cleanup Wednesday against Gio Gonzalez and is in there again Friday night against Matt Harrison. Assuming Collins sticks to his current plan, this means we should also expect him to bat cleanup Sunday against Derek Holland and next Wednesday against Tigers' left-hander Phil Coke.

Jason Bay is batting cleanup again Friday night against the Rangers. Bay has batted cleanup twice in the past three games, both against left-handed starters. He's shown some hints at busting out of his slump recently, so perhaps a weekend at the hitter-friendly Ballpark at Arlington can get his confidence going.

Jason Bay is back in the sixth spot for Thursday's matinee against the Athletics. Bay was moved up to the cleanup spot after going 3-for-3 with a home run on Tuesday night, but he went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in Wednesday's extra-inning win. There's still upside here, but he remains a frustrating enigma for fantasy owners.

Jason Bay is batting cleanup for the Mets Wednesday. Manager Terry Collins indicated he would likely make the move following Bay's 3-for-3 performance against left-hander Josh Outman Tuesday. The A's are going with another lefty, Gio Gonzalez, Wednesday, so it's possible Bay will be moved back down against right-handers. But, regardless, it's good to see him finally trending in the right direction.

Mets manager Terry Collins said he might move Jason Bay up in the batting order Wednesday after the outfielder picked up three hits, including a homer, Tuesday. Bay has been primarily batting sixth this month while occasionally hitting fifth. "If he's going to swing, I'm going to move him up. That's why he's here," Collins said. "I don't want to jam him in the spot as he's starting to get comfortable. But [tonight] we're facing a guy [lefty Gio Gonzalez] who's really tough, and having Jason Bay in the middle of the lineup might help." Bay has tallied multiple hits in four of his last six games.

Jason Bay had a rare big night Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with an RBI triple and a solo homer in a loss to the A's. Don't look now, but Bay has secured multi-hit performances in four of his last six games. It's his first longball since May 13 and just his third on the year to go along with 15 RBI. He's still not mixed league material right now, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
