Jurrjens agreed to a deal with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball on Thursday, Rich Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jurrjens has appeared in 130 major-league games over the course of a 15-year professional career but was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for exogenous testosterone last June. Having not played in the big leagues since 2014, the right-hander will look for a new opportunity in the Atlantic League as this likely closes the door on his time in the majors.

Jurrjens re-signed with the Rockies on a minor-league contract Friday, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports. The deal includes an invitation to major league camp. Jurrjens has seen his career spiral downward since making the All-Star Game in 2011, bouncing around between four different organizations and posting a cumulative 7.20 ERA over 15 appearances (13 starts) the last three seasons. He made two of those starts with the Rockies last season when injuries decimated the rotation, but did little to suggest that he's close to reemerging as a competent big-league hurler. At this point, he's best utilized as nothing more than a depth starter in the minors for an organization.

Jurrjens has elected free agency, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. The Rockies traded for Jurrjens out of desperation in early July, and the right-hander was predictably awful in his two starts for the big club (10.61 ERA, 2.46 WHIP). He went 2-8 with a 4.54 ERA in 14 starts at the Triple-A level, and at this point in his career, Jurrjens is likely best suited for an organizational depth role.

Rockies optioned RHP Jair Jurrjens to Triple-A Colorado Springs. He's clearing room for the return of Carlos Gonzalez (finger). Jurrjens posted a 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in two starts for the Rockies. It's possible he'll get another chance after the All-Star break if the club decides that Eddie Butler (shoulder) isn't ready yet.

Jair Jurrjens gave up three earned runs over 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Padres. Jurrjens surrendered eight hits and walked two in the rough outing, but the Rockies' bullpen and offense both performed well in the 6-3 victory. Jurrjens has a hideous 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP through two starts. He is not long for Colorado's big league rotation.

Jair Jurrjens said that he's feeling better after getting checked out at the hospital for breathing issues after Friday's start against the Dodgers. Jurrjens admitted that the high altitude in Colorado affected him was was the reason for the difficulty in breathing. After his rough effort on the mound on Friday, it's unclear if he'll get a chance to make another trip through the Rockies rotation.

Jair Jurrjens was taken to a local hospital after Friday's start against the Dodgers because of breathing issues. Jurrjens, who was acquired from the Reds earlier this week, was hit hard for eight runs on 12 hits and one walk over 4 2/3 innings on Friday. The Rockies should provide an update on his status soon.

Rockies purchased the contract of RHP Jair Jurrjens from Triple-A Colorado Springs.Jurrjens' first start in the majors in over a year will come Friday at Coors Field against Clayton Kershaw. The veteran right-hander has posted a 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 27/13 K/BB ratio through 34 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and shouldn't draw any attention in fantasy leagues.
