Yovani Gallardo struggled in a losing effort against the Astros on Friday, surrendering five runs (four earned) on eight hits over his six innings of work.

Gallardo also issued three free passes and struck out five in the game. He had difficulty keeping the ball in the yard, with Brett Wallace and Jason Castro each launching solo homers in the game. This may have been the final nail in the coffin of the Brewers' playoff chances, and if it was Gallardo's final start of the season he'll finish with a 16-9 record, 3.66 ERA and 204/81 K/BB ratio over 204 innings.
