Yankees signed INF Gil Velazquez to a minor league contract. The deal includes a spring training invite. Velazquez appeared in 19 games with the Marlins this season, batting .232 (13-for-56) with a double, two RBI and a .496 OPS. The 32-year-old will function as organizational depth with New York.
