Wieters (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie next Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Wieters has been able to catch eight innings in extended spring training games and appears to be progressing well, so he'll move onto the final step of his recovery with a rehab assignment. The catcher isn't eligible to be activated off the disabled list until June 4, but it appears that date could still be within reach if all goes according to plan.
