Werth (toe) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Monday, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports. He is starting in right field and batting seventh against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Werth is back with the Nationals ahead of Monday's series opener against Miami. Manager Dusty Baker said Werth, .262/.367/.446 with eight homers in 47 games before injuring his toe, will take over starting duties in right field until Bryce Harper (knee) returns from an injury of his own, according to Jamal Collier of MLB.com. Monday will mark his first major-league action since June 3, so while he's set to immediately reenter Washington's starting lineup, the Nationals will likely afford him regular days off as they ease him back into action.
