Santana is hitting .308/.343/.492 in 15 games since he was demoted to Triple-A Rochester. Santana has drawn four walks in Triple-A compared to just two in 188 place appearances in the majors this year, so he's showing some signs of progress with his plate discipline. It's possible he could be called up Friday with the Twins sending a reliever to the minors Wednesday with no announcement of a replacement. However, the Twins appear happy with Eduardo Escobar at shortstop, so it's not clear if Santana would immediately get a starting job if recalled.
