Rockies manager Bud Black said prior to Sunday's series finale against the Braves that Holland wouldn't pitch in the contest and would instead work on his slider in a bullpen session, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Black also said that the Rockies would "navigate" the closer role, but it's unclear if he was referring to just Sunday's contest, or also the games to follow. Until there's more clarity on that front, Holland still looks to be the Rockies' top option for saves, but he seems to be holding on to the job by a thread after another dismal showing Saturday, when he retired just one batter and was charged with two runs on three hits before Jake McGee came on to put out the fire in the ninth inning. Holland seemed to be one of the more reliable end gamers in the majors after notching 28 saves in 29 chances while producing a 1.62 ERA to earn an All-Star bid, but he's completely fallen apart since the break, blowing three saves and surrendering 15 runs in 13.1 innings. If Black ultimately does decide to make a change at the back end of the bullpen, McGee and Pat Neshek would be the leading candidates to replace Holland.
