Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Francisco Liriano's contract with the Pirates hasn't been finalized because he hurt his right (non-throwing) arm in December.

It was reported last month that the Pirates agreed to sign Liriano to a two-year, $14 million contract, but news of the injury has obviously changed things. The extent of the damage isn't yet known, but the good news is that it's not his throwing arm. The Pirates continue to talk to Liriano's agent, but Biertempfel hears that no deal is imminent.
