Rea (3-3) pitched 6.1 quality innings, but did not factor in the decision, Saturday against the Nationals. He allowed two runs, four hits and two walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie right-hander turned in one of his best outings of his young career, but didn't get a boost of confidence when get got into a seventh-inning jam. With men on first and second, sitting on just 82 pitches, manager Andy Green pulled Rea and went to his bullpen. Understandably, Rea hasn't given the coach much to be optimistic about when weighing these decisions, but yanking Rea left something to be desired by his owners. The six strikeouts tied his career high and the four hits were just one off another personal best. He'll be back on the bump Friday at home against the Reds.
