Porcello allowed five runs on 10 hits and one walk across six innings in a no-decision Monday against the Phillies. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Porcello was done in by a poor first inning in this one, allowing the Phillies to pound out five hits while plating four runs in the opening frame. He bounced back after that point, however, allowing just one more run over the next five innings. While Porcello has done well to post a 1.3 BB/9 over his last nine starts, he has been remarkably hittable during that span, allowing eight or more base hits seven times. With his Cy Young form from a season ago seemingly nowhere to be found, the right-hander will carry a 4.67 ERA to go along with a 1.51 WHIP into Saturday's start against the Astros.
