Out-of-options right-hander Jeremy Jeffress surrendered three runs and four hits in his inning versus the Astros on Wednesday. Ideally, Jeffress would break through this spring and give the Jays good reason to carry him as a middle reliever. Since that's unlikely, the next best scenario for Toronto has him pitching so badly that no team decides it's worth grabbing him on waivers next month. That's more likely.
