Out-of-options right-hander Jeremy Jeffress pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out two batters in relief Wednesday against the Pirates. Jeffress gave up three runs in his second appearance of the spring, but he's allowed just an earned run and posted a 8/0 K/BBratio in six innings since. He's having a strong enough spring to make it highly unlikely he'll clear waivers. The Blue Jays might end up sending down someone like Brad Lincoln in order to keep Jeffress around.
