Matt Carpenter hit his ninth home run of the year Wednesday in the Cardinals' 5-4 win over the Astros.

The two-run shot to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning put the Cardinals ahead for good. Carpenter is batting .322/.394/.503 in 85 games this season and is on pace for 16 home runs, 76 RBI and 127 runs scored. He has been one of the most productive players in baseball in 2013 and is a deserving National League All-Star.
