Mat Latos was smoked for six runs (five earned) over 4 1/3 innings Thursday, as the Reds lost a decisive Game 5 to the Giants in the NLDS.

Latos cruised over the first four innings before the Giants scored six in the fifth inning, the big blow of which was a grand slam by Buster Posey. All told, he allowed seven hits while striking out five and walking one. Latos came up big in relief in Game 1, but the Reds will be left wondering how this series may have played out had Johnny Cueto not suffered a strained oblique.
