Leo Nunez nearly blew his second save chance in as many nights, surrendering two runs on three hits Tuesday and escaping with his 33rd save. Leading 6-3 to start the ninth, Nunez retired two of the first three batters before Jason Giambi took him deep to close the gap to one run. After Ty Wigginton made things even more interesting with a single, Dexter Fowler ended the game by popping out. Nunez has converted 28 of 33 save chances on the season, which actually is a slightly better clip than his 89-for-113 career mark. Whether or not his pitching hand remains sore from Monday night's hard grounder, Nunez's closer status hardly can be viewed as safe.
