Kennedy left Thursday's contest early with a grade 1 hamstring strain, Josh Klinger of 610 Sports Radio KCSP reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough break for Kennedy, who was forced out of the game in the fifth inning after allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits. The 32-year-old was off to a nice start before suffering the injury, as he had a 2.30 ERA and 0.99 WHIP through his first five starts (31.1 innings). He remains without a timetable for return, but a trip to the DL seems all but certain at this point. Manager Ned Yost said the Royals are still looking at possible options, so more should be known about Kennedy's status come Friday.
