The right-hander said afterward that he hopes the bullpen will be a big step toward a return from the DL next week. It's uncertain whether Kennedy will need a rehab start before being activated. Although he's still winless, Kennedy was off to a great start before suffering the injury, posting a 3.03 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in his first six starts.
