Josh Hamilton (thumb) is hoping to be activated from the disabled list on May 26. Hamilton will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Salt Lake Friday and expects to play three games there before being activated next Monday. The outfielder has been on the shelf since early April with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. He batted .444/.545/.741 with a pair of homers in his first eight games before the injury.
