In his Oakland debut, Jason Hammel entitled the Giants to three runs -- two earned -- over five innings in Wednesday's 5-2 loss. He scuffled in green and gold, walking three and allowing six hits in failing to guide the A's to a season-high seventh consecutive victory. The 31-year-old hurler collected an 8-5 record, 2.98 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 104/23 K/BB ratio over 108 2/3 innings as a member of the Cubs prior to coming over with Jeff Samardzija for Addison Russell, Dan Straily, Billy McKinney and a PTBNL last week. Hammel finished the first half 8-6 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.06 WHIP.
