Howie Kendrick went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the A's on Friday. After rather brief stints batting cleanup and then leading off, Kendrick was in the fifth spot behind David Freese for the second straight game tonight. The homer gave him his first runs batted in since May 19 and his first run scored since May 23. It'd seem to make more sense to keep him at the top of the lineup as good of a job as he's done getting on base this year. Not only is he hitting .291, but his 21 walks in 213 at-bats are almost two-thirds of his way to his career high of 33. Last year, he had 23 walks in 478 at-bats.
