Hammel's first outing of the spring didn't start out strong - a walk, a single, and then a three-run homer - but at least he finished his two innings. Hammel is expected to be the No. 3 pitcher for the Cubs this year. He'll need to be more economical with his pitches - he threw 20 pitches to the first two batters - if he wants to repeat the success he had with the Cubs last year.
