Hammel was charged with four runs (two earns) on seven hits and three walks over five innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Friday. He walked three and struck out four. While most of the damage against Hammel came in the first inning, the right-hander labored throughout, needing 103 pitches to complete the five frames. By comparison, Hammel only needed 100 pitches to complete eight innings against Washington his last time out. He still sits with a sparkling 2.81 ERA to go along with a 0.96 WHIP and .219 BAA. As things line up now, Hammel will face the Indians in Cleveland in his next start.
