Hammel agreed to a contract with the Cubs on Monday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports. The terms of Hammel's contract are unclear at this point, but he will head back to Chicago after a brief playoff run with the A's in 2014. Over 108.2 innings with the Cubs last season, The 32-year-old posted a 2.98 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 104 strikeouts. Although his numbers dipped with the A's, he still finished with respectable overall numbers, and will look to recapture that success again with the Cubs in 2015.
