Guerra was designated for assignment Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Guerra had his contract purchased by the Angels last week, but he struggled mightily in seven appearances, posting a 5.68 ERA and walking seven batters. The 30-year-old has been much more productive in the minors this season, so he may get another shot in the majors if he can straighten himself out again at Triple-A Salt Lake.
